FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything You Need to Know About Beech Wood Pellets

From raw materials and quality to packaging, storage and consumption – here you can find answers to the most frequently asked questions about EKO STEP PELLET products.

What type of wood is used to produce EKO STEP PELLET?
EKO STEP PELLET is made from beech wood. Carefully selected raw materials and a controlled production process enable us to produce high-quality wood pellets for heating.
What pellet packaging options are available?
EKO STEP PELLET is available in convenient 15 kg bags, as well as large 1,030 kg jumbo bags. This allows customers to choose the packaging that best suits the needs of households, retailers and customers requiring larger quantities.
Where is EKO STEP PELLET produced?
EKO STEP PELLET is made in Serbia at the EKO STEP PELLET d.o.o. production facility in Petrovac na Mlavi.
How can you recognise high-quality wood pellets?
Pellet quality depends on several factors, including the quality of the raw material, moisture content, ash content, pellet durability, the amount of fine particles and energy value. A controlled production process is also important for ensuring consistent quality in the finished product.
Why is low moisture content important in wood pellets?
Excessive moisture can negatively affect combustion and the energy efficiency of wood pellets. Dry, properly stored pellets provide more stable combustion and better fuel efficiency.
Why is ash content important?
Lower ash content means less residue after combustion and can reduce the need for frequent cleaning of the stove or boiler. This is why ash content is one of the important indicators of wood pellet quality.
How should wood pellets be stored?
Wood pellets should be stored in a dry place, protected from moisture, water and other contaminants. We recommend keeping the bags on a pallet or another raised surface, especially in garages, basements and storage areas.
Can pellet bags be stored directly on the floor?
It is advisable not to store pellet bags directly on a cold or damp floor. A pallet or another dry, raised surface is recommended to reduce the risk of contact with moisture.
What happens if wood pellets get wet?
Wood pellets absorb moisture easily. If they come into contact with a significant amount of water, they may swell, lose their solid structure and begin to break apart. Pellets in this condition are no longer suitable for normal use in pellet heating systems.
How many wood pellets do I need for one heating season?
Consumption depends on the size of the property, quality of insulation, outdoor temperatures, desired indoor temperature, the efficiency of the stove or boiler and how the heating system is used. For this reason, it is not possible to specify the same quantity for every household.
Can EKO STEP PELLET be used in all pellet stoves and boilers?
EKO STEP PELLET is intended for heating systems designed to use wood pellets. Before use, we recommend checking the technical requirements and recommendations provided by the manufacturer of your stove, boiler or burner.
Are beech wood pellets good for heating?
Beech wood is a high-quality raw material for the production of wood pellets. In addition to the type of wood, the quality of the finished product also depends on moisture content, ash content, density, durability and the production process itself.
What is the difference between 15 kg bags and jumbo bags?
The main difference is the quantity and method of handling. The 15 kg bags are practical for households and manually refilling pellet hoppers, while the 1,030 kg jumbo bags are intended for customers requiring larger quantities of pellets.
When is the best time to buy pellets for the heating season?
It is practical to purchase pellets before the period of peak heating demand, allowing you to secure the quantity you need in advance and prepare suitable storage space.
